Yes, I do it. My afrihost is setup on the modem and I then use my Do3 via a win7 PPPoE connection for usenet.
Trick is to have modem/router that supports multiple connections.
In my case, I use microtik RB433 router board to split my internet access over 3 pppoe sessions trough Netgear modem/router depending on the routing tables maintained based on local/international/media gaming unshaped traffic.
There are several how to pages around this board that may be useful to you, depending what equipment you use.

I have a billion 5102 modem and a linksys wrt54gs router (but the router doesn't really play a part in the multi-pppoe scenario).
