constant connection attempts

In the last few days I have constant attempts by other iburst ip's to connect to my port 445. I assume these are file sharing hack attempts by local hackers?
Firewall logs it but keeps them out

Yep or attempts to discover machine names on your lan

Could be the Conficker worm as well - its looks for machines on RPC that are vulnerable.

Or just windows looking for a domain name server.
