local area connection keeps disconnecting!

it is getting really irritating.

just wondering if it is iburst or the modem?:wtf:

anyone know what is going on?:erm:

I'm not sure what is going on, but getting disconnected at any time for short periods of 1-5 minutes few times a day.

Lol, as my disconnect problem went aways :D

If its local area network I think your problem might be hardware related. Maybe you modem looses power temporarily or your LAN drivers are faulty. Also check to make sure your pc is'nt turning your LAN off to save power.

Router is used. It never disconnects at specific times or conditions (like idle).

In browser it says: "Searching..." and no traffic appears through network (internet traffic, but sends requests).
All computers on network stop receiving data.

Sometimes light on modem changes color to red.
If light is yellow, sometimes half of computers getting disconnected (but network stays connected).

Most of time it happens with green light.

i am thinking it might be hardware related, i have never had this prob until about a week ago!

how do i check if it is hardware?

Talk to Ronald and ask if he can arrange for your modem to be tested, other hardware you would have to trouble shoot yourself or you could take it in to a pc shop and ask them to test for you.

Just out of curiosity are you using windows xp and when your local area network disconnects does your sound stop working as well?

I had same issues and I contacted Ronald, he is currently monitoring my tower :)

Yes, I'm using XP. LAN not disconnected, just no traffic from internet (through modem), but it sends requests (when entering address) through network. Sound is intact.

Jagtiger you problem is most probably being cause by interference or the tower that you are using is having issues. My best suggestion would be to contact Ronald and ask him for his opinion or to investigate.

@dirty bastard. if you are using windows xp and your sound dies at the same time as you network you might be having the same problem as I was with XP. have no clue as to what caused the problem but I do know that the only way to fix it(in my case anyway) was to move to windows vista/7.

Mine started the same way, now have had no connection for 7 days and still waiting for a response from Iburst.
