Hi all

I registered for my CFA level 2 exam which is written in June this year, paid nearly $1,000 as a registration fee and have now realized that I will be away for the week of the exam.

The organizers of the exam are an American company but the terms of the payment are that it is non refundable.

Is this legal in terms of the CPA and do I have any recourse or options available to me other then taking the loss.

They have incurred no costs other then sending me the textbooks in PDF and it is 3 months prior to the exam which is written at the Sandton convention center.

Thanks in advance

Where was the contract concluded?

The CPA will apply if it is a South African Contract. Did the transaction happen within South Africa?

As a consumer, you have the right to cancel an advance booking, order, etc.

Suppliers may only charge a reasonable cancellation fee.

lol the company won't care. CPA won't apply.
