Does anyone have an iburst contact number, I would like to ask them a few questions about i-burst. Cant find one anywhere on their site

that's odd, but here are the numbers i have:
Tel: 0117153400
Fax: 0117153401

and then there are the maxicall numbers on the application form that was emailed to me, but i refuse to line telkom's pocket by using maxicall
Tel: 08619276624
Fax: 08619273282

Sihen,

personally, i don't want to call a maxicall number especially when i'm within the <50Km for a local call, i can understand that R0.99 per minute might be acceptable for long distance, and as you already know, folks on myadsl are vehemently against telkom bleeding us dry.

Any chance you can talk this maxicall affinity over with your colleagues at WBS?

If i'm expected to call a maxicall#, i would rather email helpdesk at wbsmobile.co.za and wait for a reply.

Just my viewpoint.

Yeah, I take it almost as a personal affront to be forced to call an 0861 number when needing to talk to anybody - as a matter of principle, I first vent and spit on the poor orc on the other side, demanding another number. These days it usually turns out to be a dumb call centre though, which doesn't help much - I'd imagine my success rate to be about 50%... Hopefully, suppliers/providers/service organisations will eventually come to realise that their clients/customers really are their bread and butter, and they'd better be treated with real courtesy, respect and in an honourable manner... You listening, WBS?!

The number I posted above gets through the the helpdesk, I agree that Maxicall is merely another way of ripping off the consumer. If it was a sharecall number I would happily dial it.

Sihen,

I tried 08619274357 this morning and I got a fax machine, which is really not helpful when you want to talk to a human being.

I would like to know if the WBS Helpdesk is 24/7 or what the working hours are.

I will try 0118774733 to get some info on when the scheduled downtime is going to end.

Ok, just tried 0118774733, and I get a garbled message about pressing 0 if I want to retrieve messages, no amount of effort gets me thru to a human.

ic,

Yeah I get the voice message system occasionally as well, generally if you give it a try a couple of minutes later you get either Sheila,Tshepo or Dylan. The occasional voicemail system beats using the Maxicall.

alchamy,

I do agree that the option of leaving a message is preferable to maxicall, having said that I was not given the opportunity to leave a message, I was told to press 0 to retrieve messages, there was no beep or anything.

Anyhow it is early days yet with WBS & iBurst, but I think this morning's panic could have been avoided by a service announcement from WBS, when the service was going to be down & more importantly when it would be available again.

Sihen, what happened?

I was VERY impressed by WBS last night. I phoned the first time and the phone was answered in under 5 seconds! The second time it rang about five or six times. Tsepo answered EVERY SINGLE QUESTION I had with a PROPER answer (no BS) and we're going to go and get our modem today! :D

Woohoo! No more CRAPPY Sentech!! yeah!
