Hi Folks

*sigh* I've just realized I have no way to make an attachment so flah with it. I'll email it to someone and they can host it if they have access somewhere. I've received permission from Palesa to publish this on the forums in the form of a formal letter so hosting would be a plus.

I queried ICASA some time ago about what they were doing to stop Telkom's nefarious plans and this is the response I got:

Thank you for your commments dated 3 October 2005. As you can imagine the public outcry over Telkom's proposed changes has been overwhelming to say the least. Please accept my appologies for the delay in responding.

Our legal department has made draft submissions on ADSL Services to the Chairperson and we are currently awaiting approval. Said submissions are aimed at resolving some of the controversies in Telkom's intended package.

Well, I think its great that they replied so what if everyone didn't get a personally typed letter in a scented envelope.

They've finally written a doc and it's with there chairman, may be something positive.
 
@James: Yeah I know it's somewhat standard but I've been chatting to the Palesa in a good few emails so hopefully this is more than just a waltz :D
 
Now if only the chairman can get moving! Come on Mr. Machile! MOVE IT!!!!
 
Just like the ADSL the document that was "just being finalised" and we would hear about is soon! What ever!!! ICASA is just like the goverment, they will talk and give u promises but nothing will come out of it. You spoke to Palesa, well did you also speak to Ivy *spit*, what did she have to say about it.

I actually hope FIFA comes out and says not a chance can you host the world cup. You are just to far behind in telecomunications. Maybe then when the goverment looses their precious soccer will they step up to the plate.

Point is. it's very convenient to wait till after the TELKOM changes, results and future PAPI (spit) roadmap. Just hope they are not somehow related or in cahoots with each other? We will wait and see. Maye FEBRUARY will be the surprise month again ??

Maybe its time that someone points out this loophole to FIFA and maybe FIFA will show South Africa the finger.

Once again, Telkom will be responsible.

Look at whats happening with the new Telescope, the scientists have to cut CD's on almost a daily basis and post their findings to their colleagues, they get it 10 days later, lmao.. are we in Africa? The rest of the world emails their findings, we, due to the high cost of ADSL, have to cut CD's and post them, what a joke.

I can picture the excitment on the scientists faces when they see something new wich is followed by a drop in their faces when they have to contact their colleagues across the golbe, this what I picture:

"Quick, lets contact our colleagues in the USA, just Skype them quick and tell them that we are once again posting the pictures we have just taken 5 minutes ago and they will see them in 10 days time" ..

Telkom, you are a joke.
