Contesting traffic fines

I recently checked the PayCity website to see if I have any outstanding fines. I found 2 fines for which I did not get any notification.

The status of the first one says "Admission-of-Guilt not allowed - Offender must go to court" with the speed indicated as 109km/h on a 60km/h zone. I don't recall driving this much over the speed limit ever. The date of the offence is 30/03/2015. Below is the picture of the fine. My car is in the left lane and there is another car in the picture in the right lane.

Is the fine a valid fine and if not, how do I get it removed?



The second one was for driving 73km/h in a 60km/h zone. This one is in my name as the car is still in my name. I have sold the car to a friend who is still paying me back. The fine is only R200.00 and she will pay if I show her the fine. a third of the picture is covered by a tree in the way.



Same question as above. Both offences took place in CT.

Did some googling and from this thread it seems that the fines are invalid as they do not meet the requirements to be valid speed camera fines.

Wasn't me. Promise. Was the guy behind me. I was driving in the slow lane. Don't you know, CT drivers are chilled

Number 2 is definitely illegal. There can be no objects in front of your car in the photo. You can write to the traffic department, but they will most likely just reduce the amount rather than actually removing it (I don't think they actually read most of the letters they receive). You can also provide the details of your friend so that they can update the fine. When AARTO comes in later, you would get a points penalty if you paid on behalf of a friend so it's better to just provide the details of the driver to the traffic department.

I did read the other post which says that there can't be any other car in the frame, but I'm not so sure about this otherwise they would never be able to trap during traffic.

I know a few people who've received NAG fines, but no-one I know has actually gone to court. They have never received the summons. Apparently it does happen, but I think the courts are flooded with these so the chance of them actually taking you to court is very low.

I am surprised that neither of the photos appear to have crosshairs indicating what is being read. I don't think I've seen that before in the photos.
