Soooooo.... I one where, say, to study at Unisa and get a B.Sc and you wanted to continue your studies and get a masters and Ph.D at a different institution, how would that work?

Have any of you done that yet? What was the experience like?

Shouldnt be a problem , it works on NQF standards , in most cases University / Technikon courses are aligned to each other , however there are exceptions , best is to enquire , maybe email the different educational inst. and find out if they do offer the course that you want to do and compare it(subjects etc)

Thanks! Did any of you do this? Was there any snags?

Most are aligned, but not all.

1st thing to do is to find out whether they CONSIDER credits for your courses from said institution. They will never guarantee it. Some are also down right iffy about it.

During my B.Tech @ NMMU I jumped ship to Cape Tech due to course limitations - They refused to guarantee that i'd get the credits and I pretty much had to hope for the best.

Eventually it all worked out fine though.
