Hi,

I'm currently on a MTN AnyTime 350 but when I took out my contract I had to pay in about R100 extra a month for the phone. I would like to know

After my contract is up do I still pay the same amount or will MTN adjust the monthly cost accordingly?
Do I need to call em to adjust it?
Do I have to sign up for another 24 months to stay on the AnyTime 350 package?

Not really interested in signing up for another 24 months just need to bring the cost down below R400.

Thx

After 24 months you have paid for the phone so your monthly account should just be for the line and whatever other services you have. All the same and to be sure call MTN call center to verify that is indeed correct, you would not want to fall in areas ;)

You MUST call them to cancel it otherwise they just re-sign you up on your behalf for another two years. That's what they used to do. Cancel NOW!

No they don't. The contract will automatically go onto month-to-month with the standard subscription price so you would be able to cancel completely, downgrade or port at anytime without penalties.

But you could also consider the UYO (use-your-own) deals where you get a substantial discount on the normal subscription. I.e. Anytime 200 would be around R100 per month. But this will then be for another 24 months.

After lots of patience eventually managed to get through to the contact centre this morning and apparently after the contract expires all promo fees and discounts are automatically removed on contract expiry. If not log a billing query.

So I guess I'll be logging a billing query next month :(

i think they refunded me when i pointed this out to them
