Contract BS from MTN

Is there someone from MTN here that can please explain to me how you can do whatever the F you want lately?

We have a contract with MTN, that expired last year and we did not upgrade, so am i correct in saying that it becomes a month to month contract unless it was changed or renewed or any communication or agreement that changed it otherwise?

So now a year later and we go to upgrade the contract and add a phone to it and they say sorry we automatically upgraded you last year when you contract expired and changed it to a new 24 month contract without a device. So if you want a new device please get a new contract and if you want to moan about the other contract please take it up with head office.

WTF!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so damn sick of large companies doing whatever the hell they want and being so totally anti consumer. It's not even damn funny.

So guys just a heads up, if your contract does come to an end and you do not want a new device immediately, then cancel, because you won't be allowed to upgrade later, or oven better go to another provider asap.
 
Is the automatic renewal in the terms and conditions of the original contract? If not, they will capitulate if you complain enough.
 
No it is not, but yeah told us to take it up with head office, there are lots of complaint etc, so whatever, your problem not ours is basically the sentiment.
