Dear Vodacom,

Your contract criteria for upgrading is shocking & is obviously designed to benefit you, instead of the customer.

I have been a Vodacom customer since 1995. I have been using a Blackberry on your network since B.I.S. has been available.

So, its upgrade time. Only to be told that if I don't want to pay-in (R399) on a Blackberry Bold 9780, I must either change my current Talk120S to a Talk100 or a Talk130. I'm told that there is currently a special promotion on a Talk100 whereby the customer is given a free 9780 Blackberry, a 100 anytime minutes and B.I.S. is included for R299.00.

I don't want per minute billing, per second billing is much more economical and definately favours the customer. Please don't tell me that per second billing is only for short calls while per minute billing is for longer calls!?! I always used to exceed my limit on per minute billing, but hardly ever do on per second billing, regardless of the call length.

So, I guess now that I've vented, I'll just wait for the 7th of next month to see what 'deals' are available then.

I now understand that the change from Blue to Red is because that Vodacom/Vodafone are Bloodsuckers!?!

Vodacom wants to charge me about R600 to change from per minute to per second billing! WTF?

This is ridiculous because I did it for free a while back.....

The financials are different between the PM and PS billing. You will also see that the deals on the Everyday 120 Off peak is different between the PS and PM tarrifs. So, if you decide to migrate between the two Vodacom will recoup the money lost on the deal that you signed by means of charging you for the migration.
