Hi there

Can anyone assist me...

In October last year I took out a Top-up 135 contract for my Fiancee and had it linked to my account...

Now, In December my fiancee decided to run off and start dating my best friend instead...

Is there any way I can transfer the contract to a different number and give my ex her number back?

Vodacom says I can't cancel the contract and I'm ok with that, but the ex wants her number back...

If my fiance did that to me, I'd give a stuff what she wanted - I'd immediately cancel the number, and get a new number and sim on MY contract.

Hi. If this is a Vodacom SP number, she can visit her closest Vodashop, 4U store or independant dealer that is linked to Vodacom service provider company. She must then complete a contract application and supply the store with a copy of her ID and latest 3 month bank statements. They will also supply her with a Contract Transfer form. This must be singed off by you as the old subscriber and by her as the new subscirber. The transfer of ownership will cost her R150.00. This gets charged to the account. The contract will then be transfered into her name and romoved from your Vodacom account.

If she had a old number that she wants to use on this Top Up contract, then to my knowledge that is not possible.

I hope the above helps.

That is correct. Normal VSP credit vetting criteria will have to be met. If she is listed on ITC for whatever reason, the application will be declined and the transfer will not be completed.

Hell, same thing happened to me... Take the number, sim and phone back... When me ex asked me what I'm going to do with the phone, I threw it into her pool... It's the principle... :)

I would have the number barred for life and tell the mother to go away with the big scary F word.

Well, whilst the number is in your name, you are the legal owner of the line and handset. You are free to do with it what you want....lock the line and keep the phone if you prefer. It would be completely up to you. Once the contract term is reached, you can have the number deleted and then Vodacom will recycle the number.

Highly unlikely. A contract number can be converted into a prepaid number, but only once the contract have expired. The systems do not allow for such a swop. Transfer of ownership would be your best bet and quickest way of resolving this matter.

It's the curse that has been placed upon me.... I'm too nice...

I have other infraction like words that come to mind.

Dude, tell her to get stuffed, and if her mother phones, tell her to get stuffed too - and then go hurt your ex-friend.

Yeah that closes most doors then. Vodacom not going to open a account for someone who is unemployed and her father also wont be able to if listed on ITC.
