Contract STILL expires in 2037!

Okay, so it should expire in April 2010.

(I'm happy with the service thus far, but I don't see myself staying with iBurst unless if the 64K throttle is kept.)

I thought this was supposed to have been sorted by now.

Ja, but 384kbps is SLOOW, compared to iBurst. I get decent speeds ~900kbps(business hours is a bit rough though, like ~450kbps). I wouldn't mind staying with iBurst, but the prices....I cant pay more for a lesser service.

Hence ADSL 384, not because i want it, but because i'm forced to.

Ya I will miss the speed since I'm really close to a tower so can always get full 1 meg speed most of the time with the exception of business hours, but adsl I'll beable to browse faster and most big downloads I used to leave overnight anyway so nothing will change there. Am just curious how well youtube loads on 384k cause that I use a lot

Youtube runs a lot smoother on a 384k line than what it does on iburst. I wish telkom would put some more lines down in my area

As long as I can play without having to buffer a lot then I'm fine At night my iburst can play without having to wait but during the day I normally have to let it load a good chunk of it before I click play

Ja, Youtube does load quite quickly, even during the day for me. (Sumtimes bufering is required though).

The new packages would be perfect, if it included the 64K throttle. Then NO ONE would complain

Yea me too but the thing is, I mailed them 6 times during December to find out what date this month my contract expires.

Not too hard to guess I got 6 different dates Luckily all in January 2010

But in the mean time my 512K ADSL is up and running and what an absolute pleasure I can see my bandwith when I want too, can see when I logged in etc etc and the service is PERFECT

Sounds like someone possibly ran a bulk UPDATE SQL statement on the contract expiry dates without specifying a WHERE clause.
Thus everyone was possibly updated to the 2037 expiry date on their contracts.

If that was the case it would also explain their problem with fixing this.
SQL does not have an undo function or a recycle bin.
That means they probably have to search for and find every physical piece of paper re. the contracts to get the expiry dates.

Just a theory in any event...

Clearly though a lot of things went wrong during the migration process.

Oh you poor little soul, 2037? By that time we will all teleport around the planet with line speeds up to 5 terabytes per second and you will still be binded to your 512kb/s iburst contract. Bwahahaha that would be too funny

Was not sorry for 1 second in the 30 days I've been on ADSL - except for the fact that I did not go the ADSL route 2 years ago already

ADSL may be slower on paper than IWorst, BUT the proof is in the pudding as they say - and yes ADSL is 100 times more reliable than IWorst on WoW and on any browser you need to open.

They funny thing is, when you open any webpage of your choice, it loads up to 300% FASTER than the IWorst webpage which is a local site - even on ADSL it takes up to (seems like ) 3 minutes.

So I agree that the ship is without Captain, without course, waiting for an Iceberg -
