So I have always bought my phones cash and manage my monthly spending on my own. Last year for the first time ever I signed a contract and I have been pleasantly surprised!
For starters, my monthly phone expenses decreased and I got a shiney new Huawei router. They gave me a Cell C branded phone that I don't use (GPS doesn't work, it's slow, tonsof bugs), but I don't mind since it's not my daily driver. The minutes, data and sms allocation on the SIMs are adequate while on the move.
I'm seriously considering upgrading this year to a flagship device. What have your experiences been? Is contract more expensive than buying a phone for cash and managing your spend these days?
