You go into one of the service providers' stores with 3 months stamped bank statements, certified id copy, proof of residence and your payslip and then you can fill in the application in-store.

Not everyone is English fluent. You should make an effort to learn other languages (like me, I know Afrikaans too ), so that you can be mocked for not speaking/writing it fluently.

I speak 3 languages fluently (English, Afrikaans and Zulu) and 3 I can communicate in (French, German and Spanish) although not hold a meaningful conversation.
