I am trying to control the HD PVR 2P with a Home Automation processor.
I have an infrared transmitter connected to the front of the Decoder

1) Where is the exact location of the IR receiver on HD PVR decoder front panel?

2) I have used codes I received from the supplier for HD PVR and they don't work

3) I have capture the IR codes into the system from a working remote and it still not working.

The transmitter works on other devices like a dvd player so the processor and ir transmitter is working fine.

Only 2 things remain that can be wrong. I either have the wrong codes or I don't have the exact position on the front panel of the decoder.

DSTV forums are not allowing me to post.

You should be able to move the IR censor further away from the decoder to test.
If I am not mistaken the IR receiver is on the bottom at the right side of the display.

Hope this helps

The transmitter shouldn't have to be on top of the receiver to work. Infrared shows up as blue light on phone cameras if you want to check that the transmitter is working.
Does your system not have a learning function? That would be the easiest way to get the correct codes.

Like I said in the op no 3, I have captured (learn) the codes into the systems from the original working remote.

tried again today by re-aligning and capturing the code again into the IR learner, but nothing works

Well check that the transmitter is actually transmitting by holding it in front of your phones camera with the camera app open while the transmitter is supposed to be transmitting. If it is actually transmitting something you will see it as a blue flashing light.

If it is transmitting something then it's a software problem. If it's not it's a hardware problem.
Probably.
