Isn't it great fun when links on vodacom's website take you to a blank page and when your call is transferred by vodacom's call centre to their "data specialists" and you get an automated response telling you that "the number you dialled does not exist, please try again".

Does anyone know the direct link to check a data bundle balance.
I bookmarked it, but when I return I get shoved back onto the vodacon4me page with no option on it to check a data balance.

Login to Vodacom4me and go to >My Accounts >Data bundles or dial *111# >Balance inquiry > Data bundle

I must say, when I got my 3g contract I went to Vodaworld and had a chat to the technical support guys there. Very friendly and good service!

same page

every time i log on I get routed to the large very blank screen with the small frame on the right.
It has an accounts option but only gives an AIRTIME balance & SMS balance - no option for data.
Where is the Vodacom3G guy when I need help.
Maybe i'm just losing the plot !!!!

this is on one of my prepaid cards.
if i use the link on my post above I get to the logon screen, from there, there is no way to load/convert airtime to data or check data balance

Data Left Over on Bundel

I found the quickest way is to SMS "mm" to "31050"

You don't have to struggle with clicks via obscure pages that don't want to be book marked, just use VMC and sms. You don't have to be connected even to the net to work.

Just my few cents

I think thats coz you need to register first? And if already registered, login maybe? Then select "My Account ->> Data Bundles".

AFAIK that only works for contract customers, better to SMS balance to 100 for pre-paid.

balance to 100 only brings back the amount of airtime remaining, not MB's. I tried it for the first time the other day when my Data Bundle was depleted.

Ummm, I have used it many times specifically to get a balance on my PPDB, perhaps your PPDB was already depleted and that's why you only got an airtime reading...or maybe the force is strong with my pre-paid SIM Card and weak with yours :p.

I'll try it next time when i have megs still remaining

Must I take the SIM out of the modem?

I am new to the PPDB - is there an easier way of communicating with Vodacom? In order to get one's data balance - must one remoce the SIM from the modem and place it in a handset? Is there any other way?

Sign up for Vodacom4me.co.za. You can see the remainder of your bundle online.

Using a Vodafone branded E220, wiht an older version dashboard (wihtout SMS capability. However, a mate got a new modem and the software that came along had an SMS capability as well. I will download this version - which will solve my one problem.

Now for another problem - Vodacom thankfully allowed PPDB users to buy another bundle during the last 10 Mbs. However, I usuallly run out of days before I run out of Mbs. That means that I cannot get onto the web on day 31 to log onto V4U to buy more data...... I now have to either remove the SIM from the Modem and place it into a hanset, or I have to drive out to a Vodashop and buy a PP bundle.

It would be great if Vodafone could incorporate USSD commands into the VMC/Lite Software like Thetalogx did with the Slipstream Software.

I have countless people complaining about taking the SIM out and putting into their phones to Load Airtime and Data Bundles.

Internet Banking and [searchforum]ginggs' application[/searchforum]...

I know. But still. People dont know about Ginggs App and some people dont do internet banking, or dont know how to transfer airtime from IB to the SIM.
