Anyone know a good program that can do this?.

I've tried a few but I have had various problems.

What have you tried?

Tried SUPER but couldn't get it to work:( .

Also tried Replay Converter but I am missing some codec it seems.

Hi,

I use IMTOO Mpeg encoder, and works fabulous.

But you will have to buy a license for it.

If u want a free one, Super is as good.

Quicktime Pro seems to do it quite easily.

Thanks for the replys. Got it to work with "Total Video Converter"

:)

i use VLC regularly to convert from anything to anything. a little difficult to get to know, but once you know how it works, you won't use another media player/converter again!

You can use it to convert to another format?

Must investigate this - thanks.

EDIT - found it - Awesome!

BTW - what settings do you use to encapsulate to AVI?

Sorry man, don't mean to insult you.... IMTOO, sheza NO GOOD for anything and not free!!!!

Also, try mediacoder http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/.

It is also free, and like Super, I think it uses ffmpeg compiled for windoze. Though, so far I have found Super produces better quality with easier access to the settings, which can also be saved to a profile, which makes life very easy if you are transcoding to various different platforms like particular mobile phones for instance.

VLC also does a capable job, though it seems to have problems with some flv files in my personal experience.

ffmpeg -i myvideo.flv -ab 56 -ar 22050 -b 500 -s 320x240 myvideo.mpg

ffmpeg -i myvideo.flv -ar 48000 -ac 2 myvideo.avi

Um. I'm new at this ... what's the process for downloading videos from youtube ? I thought you couldn't 'keep' streamed videos ?
