Hi Guys,

I have a client that needs their logo converted into a vector image so it can be printed on a umbrella, it is quite a detailed image. Have tried using photoshop and some other vector conversion software but nothing is useable, but then again i have no clue what i'm doing with this kind of stuff.
What companies do this kind of stuff?

thanks for the help

ps hope this is in the right place

website is cool never knew about it, but doesnt give good formats, and it only works on certain images, never knew about it

will try use this again sometime

no dude that website rocks

eps is an awesome file format because you can edit it in corel draw

that site is the business for low res image's

Thanks for the tip Killadoob. I don't really do graphics though, more into the hardware side.

That website is good, gave me a better quality one than the other software i tried.

Thanks for all the help so far guys!

Trace bitmap with inkscape works for some images and its free, I am designer and use illustrator and I can help you out if you need me though.

I find using those bitmap > vector converters usually leave you with vector based image which is made up of tiny fragments which isn't friendly to your processor or general editing. Rather learn how to use the pen/line tool with bezier corners. You'll never look back :)

I presume you're talking about the pen tool in photoshop. The latest versions of photoshop have a pretty advanced algorithm for upscaling raster images. This obviously isn't quite the same though...

Well yeah you can use paths in Photoshop but I find it better to work in something like CorelDraw or Freehand and then import into Photoshop. Best tip for doing that type of thing is print the vector image as a PDF. Then when you import that PDF into Photoshop you can specify what size you want to bring it in as. I know with Freehand if you copy the image into clipboard and take it to Photoshop you can resize it to suit quite quickly.

its easier to just redraw the image over the old image in corel draw.

no its not

vertor magic will take a 15 colour logo and redraw it perfectly as will power trace

no doubt u get the logo's you must redraw but between corel draw and vector magic they save me about 20 hours a week of recreating
