Been given an external HDD which has some (150) ripped DVDs which each consist of multiple IFO and VOB files. I am looking for a program that will convert all the files from one DVD movie into one AVI file. It must include the subtitles as most of these are foreign language movies (Broen, etc)

Have tried iSkysoft, but are there any others? I would like to copy the AVI files onto a media player.

Thanks

I haven't used it a lot but I think Auto Gordian Knot will do that for you.

Try Handbrake, it is my go to programme for this kind of stuff

Try Total Video Converter. Thats what I use to convert any video format to any other video/audio format.

Thanks, these programs (Handbrake, Total - dvd2avi is very outdated) do more or less the same thing. Auto Gordian Knot will convert but not combine. I did pay iSkysoft $39 for their program, but it puts a watermark on all AVI files, so was looking for something else

Of course you could also just make an ISO file out of the folder, then mount it on a virtual drive and rip it to an avi

Handbrake works perfectly.

Handbrake works fine but it wont give you AVI output, only MP4 & MKV

They provide a trial (no limits) for that feature and many others.

@OP
Never heard of a watermark on paid software. You sure you activated it?

I use Mac the ripper to rip the DVD then toast or handbrake to encode to DVD VOB files.
It used to be a free app but not sure if it's still available.
