Converting to prepaid after solar installation?

So the situation is as follows.

Our new place was registered in our name just over a month ago. I contacted a middle man service (Council Couriers) to have our electricity converted to prepaid, and was told that they require a rates account in my name. I can't get a rates account in my name until about 3 months after transfer. And after applying for a prepaid conversion, will take a further 3 months to actually get it done.

Meanwhile the contractors are busy with extensive renovations, and should be done in about a month. I want to get everything done, incl solar installation, before we move in. Will probably have this done towards the end when all the electrical work is completed.

So the question is, can I have the prepaid conversion done after the solar installation? Has anyone here done it? The main concern is I don't want the council guys coming over and mucking about with any wiring that could affect my solar system...

Shouldn't matter.

The contractor will typically run a new line from your db -> inverter for grid tie.
The council goes street feed -> meter -> db.

When the meter is replaced they replace before the db.

We had postpaid when I put in the solar / inverter / battery. Did the whole registration with coct and they then moved us to prepaid. Our meter is actually on the corner of the road so they just did it there and gave us one of the crappy plug in controls once done. Made no diff assuming your solar is installed correctly not to back feed.
