Cooking meat prolong expiration date?

So turkey I am just about to cook expires today, and there is enough there to last me maybe 3 days, is it still safe to eat meat that has been cooked and is now past its expire date? I know it may sound like a stupid question, but i'm a bachelor and new to this cooking thing

My experience is poultry should not stay over more than 1 night once cooked. Can you spell salmonella?

3 days is normally fine with cooked meat when refrigerated.
