You are missing the point completely. The crappy costumes shown at Rage is a joke compared to serious international Cosplay events. The one I showed wasn't from Rage at all...it was just a cringe example.

To be fair, a lot of the popular overseas cos-players are semi-pro and get to travel to conventions and stuff as part of the event's attractions \ publicity.

There are amateurs there but also a handful of pro South African cosplayers.

Ignore the oke. He's probably the Ironman above and actually thinks he nailed it. Typing critique on a keyboard nowadays usually means he can't do it himself anyways.
In other countries, you can probably get the costumes off the shelf and just have to do the makeup.

Nice examples but the best Cosplay is East Asian.
The Korean cosplayer, Tomia, is one of the best.

Yeah, but that's because you're not East Asian yourself. For non-East Asian, its difficult to tell the age of some East Asian (wo)men, heck you may even say they all look alike.
Lenfried does not look jaibatey but she does ero-cosplay.
Chinese cosplay also looks good. Although best cosplay in the world is at comiket. Still Tomia could easily be in their top 10.

Love how they pick the best of all the international events and then compare it to the worst of Rage. I've seen some really good attempts from Rage over the years including the Princess Leah girl.
