Cool Ideas Fibre ISP – Feedback Thread 6

Hey just a quick question for the CISP reps or anyone with knowledge on this matter. Why do some games or people get lower ping to Middle Eastern servers then EU ones? I’ve personally always gotten lower ping to EU with everything, while Middle East has always been 200ms+ on ping tests.

Is this related to things like exitlag or some games optimising the servers better? I’m very confused. I’ve seen some people get less then 150 to Middle East(on games like Fortnite) and have always wondered how.

Could be due to Fortnite uses AWS which routes better than Azure does when it comes to overseas. I could be wrong, just something I heard

Ah the AWS routing is probably the reason. I just don’t ever get lower then 200ms on a regular ping test so it had me wondering

You could use something like EXITLAG to help, it has reduced my ping on some games, I get 125 ping to Dubai servers on R6 staying in EC

As others mentioned certain games use certain server hosts so for example Amazon is picked up locally and taken via their network via a direct route where other providers also picked up locally don't have that route.

Only way to ensure that low latency is using a VPN with a host who uses that route(s) or something like Exitlag and connect to their Dubai server

Yeah, down, again. This is crazy with how many disconnects they have on their network. When they are up, it is not all swimming either.

I can't in any conscious recommend them. I am at that edge to switch to Openserve.

Not a day goes by without some issue on their core infrastructure- it’s infuriating
