WIOCC decided it's going to announce everyone and everything to every single peering point they are at. Thankfully IXs have prefix announcement limits.

Might have been although the VPS for the EU I was pinging by IP and not on its Domain Name as to make sure it was not DNS Resolution failure.

Will monitor from my side and let you know of any updates or changes

Ah right, then I'm not too sure what could have caused that in all honesty, was working fine from JHB and CPT when I tested at the time.. Very odd

Hmm, some intermittent issues this evening - high latency to the extent that MyBB was unavailable a few minutes ago

Edit: Openserve, Pinelands, Cape Town, 200/100

Likely just fallout. It should come right after a bit. Let me know if the issue continues though

Yeah WIOCC was leaking the internet to all peers locally and internationally.

The impact local is because a bunch of ISPs and transit providers accepted these routes.

Thankfully exchanges have prefix limits so they automatically shut WIOCC peering sessions due to those limits getting reached which mitigated the issue.

I think something broke on their network that caused the leak. It was quite a big one.

Yeah they tripped our prefix limits but KZN took a while and so some traffic started swinging via KZN. Then it takes time for convergence.

I tried that and didn't work but I tried turning off and on the box now and it worked
