Cool Ideas Fibre ISP – Feedback Thread 6

So does the madrid VPN use the paratus route for me in PTA or is that not a thing yet? I haven't been paying attention to the forum recently

I also noticed IPV6 has been missing for some time for me on metrofibre, is that normal?
HI there,

There are 3 VPNs now for Central Europe:
madvpn.cisp.co.za - Default paratus - For KZN and JHB Idealy

madcptvpn.cisp.co.za - Via Equiano -for CPT and Eastern Cape Idealy
madcptvpn2.cisp.co.za - same as above, just hosted in spain, and not madrid

Username/PSW is test
PPTP or L2TP

And MFN should have IPV6 now, can you confirm if you have DHCPv6 enabled?
Does your gateway show 100.100.101.67? If not, you can change your AC name to TRI-JB1-DC4-O15-AR2

Yep I have DHCPv6 enabled, I remember I had an IPV6 address some time ago and mentioned it here, I haven't changed anything at all, it's just gone

Default gateway is 154.0.0.123

Not really an issue I don't need v6 for anything was just curious

Yeah so the old AR's are still in play, so you may still auth on the 154 devices(no-IPV6). If you lock to TRI-JB1-DC4-O15-AR2 you should be fine.

Will check with the team when the move is completed though.

No worries I'll wait it out, switch to TRI-JHB would cost me redundancy no?

Indeed, but those routers are way more stable, so unlikely to be problematic (Touch Wood)

For context, Uptime is 123 days for that Device

Just went down. OS having issues again? I'll log / reopen in a bit
Its back up again.

I don't know how this works or what changed but the same wire was broken, so he took it out and re-spliced it again. I then asked how/why it can break on its own and then was told: "sensitive wire, power surge" -

So, this never was the case before. Idk. I woke up in a fantasy world?

That's quite odd indeed, however I'm glad you are back up again :)

@CoolEscalator

Internet down since 03h30 this morning.

Ticket: COOL-20260220-2603295

Did the usual - rebooted ont twice and router - still down.

Pinelands, Cape Town
Open serve 200/100

Edit: call agent indicated it’s an Openserve area outage. I’m surprised that others have t reported.

@PBCool really need your help with this ticket.
Previous tenant removed the fibre ont, I don't know why people do this.

Hi there thanks for reaching out. Our team will log this with the FNO and request a new ONT to be installed for the order. This happens more often than you might think...
