Cool Ideas Internet Not Working Again! Please recommend another ISP

I have been with Cool Ideas for many years but throughout this year the internet service has been poor. I am paying R1400 per month for 400 Mbps but on most weekends I cannot even stream Netflix or Amazon Prime on my 4K display. Our internet was down on Monday for hours which was a Octotel problem. This evening we have had no internet since 6:00pm. I want to be loyal to Cool Ideas because they were voted the best ISP in South Africa a few years ago and the service has been very good for many years. But 2023, Cool Ideas has been pretty bad. I am just tired of calling their call centres. I tried to create a support ticket this evening on their website and i was unable to login. Their website also seems to have a problem. Which ISP is my next best option? I live in Kenilworth/Claremont area in Western Cape. Please recommend a ISP? I do not mind paying a premium subscription as long as I am guaranteed quality service.

Afrihost/Octotel has been solid so far for me especially streaming. Atomic access,Krypton web great options too. Maybe try to talk to one of the ci reps here and see if they can fix if not switch
 
No such thing such as quality guaranteed service. They're all OK, but they all have their problems.

Yeah something broke tonight with Cool Idea's, but looks like there's also a DNS issue, having problems with 8.8.8.8 .
 
Have LTE as backup. All isps have issues. I have also been with cool for a few years.

I get 10gb a month of data with my Telkom contract that I use for times like these,
 
I have the same problem, also Cape Town (northern suburbs). Problem is we live in a cell coverage dead spot - only one bar signal at the best of times, so that does not make a viable backup.

Our street is served by both Vumatel and Openserve though, so I’ve started having fantasies about getting a second internet service. None of them are great in my experience but with any luck two different ISPs on two different infrastructures might be fine. Trouble is the cost and hassle of setting up a LAN in the house to handle two WANs. With both me and my wife working from home it might become a necessity.

What a mess.

I've had constant DNS issues with the default one. I switched to cloudflare (1.1.1.1) and its been much better. So I agree either switch to google or clouflare.

Afrihost + Openserve has been rock solid for everyone I know. CPT northern suburbs.
 
Been with Cool Ideas for roughly 6 Years with nothing but fantastic service for 5 of them.

This year has been nothing but issues.
 
I am facing a weird issue, no internet but what's app and Facebook works.
On my work laptop, internet is working through the VPN but can't join a call on teams.
