hey, can anyone tell me where the coolent temperature sensor is on an 1995 opel astra (f) and how to replace or clean it.

cts are very cheap, if you think its suspect replace it! it should be on the front of the engine near the thermostat left side, think its blue

Lol! True!

I replaced mine. At Goldwagen R420! Up the road at Midas = R99! :D

Rather buy a new one if you can. It relays alot important info to the ECU.

Get the original from GM, they are cheap anyways. Which Astra F engine do you have, SPi or MPi.

MPi the sensor is located on the right side of the cylinder head below the coil pack (when working from the front), screws out with a number 10 socket if I remember correctly. There will be coolant spillage so best have a bucket ready. You need to disconnect the wire sensor first, it's clip off, turn it out using the socket wrench and finally turn in the new one, don't over torque when you screw in the new one.

SPi I'm not entirely familiar with, probably located in the same general area, except instead of a coil pack it'll have a hall effect electronically controlled type distributor.
