Hi there all.

I've had the Coolermaster Mastercase Pro 6 for a while now and I don't know what I was thinking initially but its as if something in my head just clicked into place recently and I realized that I could be doing a lot of things better in my case layout and airflow (maybe I've been watching too much LTT). To be frank this thing is a massive dust magnet and I'm cleaning it about once every 2mo. Also does not help that the room it's in just pulls so much traffic it's inevitable there's gonna be dust at times.

I'm trying to help the situation by actively keeping dust out instead of just cleaning and one of the first options I read about what magnetic dust filters. Does anyone know of good ones that will work with my case? Currently, have a Mastercooler 240 installed at the top but man was that another mission and a story for another day, especially since one would assume they just work together if they are reported 'compatible'. Spoiler alert, they are not completely. That said those fans make a horrible noise when ramped up even a bit and i've even had to replace some directly from RMA via Coolermaster.

Back to the point tho, for some reason, the rad still seems to get some dust on it which makes me think the fans are doing a piss poor job or the fan curve is set to ultra low (altho the settings state otherwise). Worst case solution i might just get another case, but if i can make this work would be better.

TLDR if anyone has some good suggestions for case fans and filters to keep a solid positive pressure in a Mastercase Pro 6 please drop some comments, kinda on my wit's end.

Regards

in one factory we use to cut sheets of fish tank filter material for the 12cm fans ,plenty different thicknesses and also cheap .some are impregnated with carbon and adsorb ,it keeps the air dry .for thingys to keep it in place we used mirror mounting corners glued on with marine silicone or thin double sided tape .

Love this DIY approach! Thank you! One thing I've been wondering with either this approach or the magnetic ones is - how does cleaning work normally? You just pull it off and shake it out outside or?

its so cheap you just toss them .the fishtank ones seem to attract dust as if allmost sticky .

Interesting. Where would one go to perhaps purchase a sheet of something like this to test out?
we used to buy it at a koi shop ,if in jhb the garden centre in beyers naude should have .at a price .it worked for us but wont stop everything
