So I bought myself a set of the Sirus S headset - so far so good, but running them in stereo mode at the moment as the bass really sucks when running 5.1 on my on-board card. I've read that this is partly due to it being on the onboard and might need a new sound card.

Which would be best, any owners of Sirus headset that can comment? What are you using? Your bass ok?

Looking at the Xonar DSX/DGX series, might be able to push to DX/D2 if the use case justifies the premium.

i haven't really noticed an issue with the bass on mine, but let me play tonight and see if I pickup anything odd. I am using the USB connection though not the audio outputs.

The USB sound card is very flat kind of audio, that's why I don't use it, the bass on mine isn't over the top, OP have you looked at any settings that your onboard might have that is adding bass? otherwise any sounds card will do, I used to have a Creative basic sound card from about 6 years ago, and it did the job pretty well compared to onboard sound.

I have the S, so it doesn't come with the USB.

My bass is really low, not loud, as in it almost sounds like its not there, to the point that I thought it was broken until I forced the different connectors to stereo.
