Hi
Got myself a 280L in place of hyper evo 212 ....idle temps at 41 (same as evo) fans 1100rpm...pump report 5500rpm.
Load 55-57 degrees on 3500mhz...(set for max turbo overclock at 22x...4400 ...but it dont go 22 dont know why)

Does this sound about right?

My evo use to idle also 40 degrees...so was this waist of money? lol

You should double check you have the right profile setup for the fans to spin on the cooler. I had the issue as well, my CPU temps would climb and climb, fans were never setup to actually start spinning faster at higher temps.

No that is definitely not right. I have a G3258 overclocked to 4GHz with a CoolerMaster Seidon 120V, idle is 36C (of not OC, idle is room temp +5C, so like 26C), load goes to 65C.

Has your paste been done correctly?

Have done paste 2 x ...fans is set up...u can hear the boeing take off on 2200rpm ...

I sepose the pump is set at one speed? If i remember right it only have 3 pins....

Too much paste will have the opposite affect. Can you try do the paste again with a high conductivity paste (At least more than 4W/m^2.K) like this http://www.rebeltech.co.za/2478-coo...1-rg-efx1-tg15-r1-thermal-grease-non-cur.html or bare minimum http://www.rebeltech.co.za/2476-coo...ice1-tg15-r1-thermal-grease-specific-gra.html

Just use one pea sized drop in the centre, put cooler down straight and pressurize.

Pump speed will have little effect on cooling capacity, airflow through radiator will have much greater effect. I can go into more thermos detail if you'd like, but remember, q=-k(dT/dx).

Have some of the white ones...dont know how good it is...my silver paste is now finish....

Its zalman super thermal paste i used...im in middle of kalahari...dont know if shops here will have paste.

So after reapply x 3 times paste....my idle temp was 44 yesterday....will that extreme x1 paste drop my temp with 10 degrees? Does r200 paste justify 2-3 degrees? Just weird how a 1400mhz cpu with 0.9v idle on 44 ...with 2 x 140mm push and 2x 120 mm fans full on the rad...
