Hi PBCool

Question directed at you, With VUMA basically recently giving us the middle finger after already having started digging in the area.

Can you advise, will you be able to provide services on top of the Vodacom fiber thats being rolled out, one side of our street was laid Tuesday, They suppose to do our side today, so hopefully VCSA will be lit up soon also, as a second option against OS.

With my week and what happened with OS I'm very keen to have options and not being held hostage.

Vodacoms network isn't open access, so the current answer is no. They have mentioned they will be going the open route but they are not sure when.

They have been saying this for over a year.

I'm hoping with this major roll outs that this is imminent, thought maybe you guys were having talks in the back and there might be a more definitive ETA...

We've asked for an ETA and the answer is there is no ETA :).

Hi PBCool. Any progress on this. I heard from Paul you guys have a MSA with Vodacom.
I am Paul :), yes MSA signed waiting for the official release from VC. Hopefully should be soon.

Delay in Fibre in Brackendowns / Brackenhurst

This might not be something that can be answered, openly and honestly, but I need to know why in Cape Town, fibre went live basically two months after trenching.

In our areas, trenching took place in January already??? It is going on to nine months now and the fibre is still not live.
And just to clarify, the suburb in Cape Town covers a much larger area than that of ours. So that is no excuse.

My ONT is installed already - but SADV cannot or wont be open and honest about the delays.

I remember something about the wayleaves and also the municipality being an issue, but why do the consumers suffer at the end of the day? Also the ISP's could be making money the quicker the fibre was live.

I wish we could all stand together and say enough is enough with these delays and make the ISP's see what it feels like when we hold back on signing up with them for at least a month. Make them feel the impact like it has impacted our lives.

How will that work? VC supplied their own locked down router and crazy FUP limits. It's strange that they will lift restrictions and undercut themselves ?

They will just provide the layer2 to other ISPs, same story with many other fibre providers also having their own in-house ISP.

Remember they purchased this network, they didn't build it themselves, so that brings with itself delays.

Nice.. pity they cant pull the fibre through the old conduit in my complex. Hoping Vuma Aerial roll out in the area and can make a plan.
