Hello guys,

I've build a pc with the following specifications:
chassis: Aerocool rs4
board: Asus p8z68 deluxe
Video card: ATI Radeon hd5450
processor: Intel coreI5 2500
ram: transcend ddr3 4gb 1333
hard drives: seagate 1.5tb 7200 RPM samsung 1tb 5400 rpm
dvdrw: tsst corp 22x
PSU: Aerocool 700w
CPU cooler: antec h20 920

and I would like to know your opinion regarding the tempreature and voltage readings below please. I've extracted some information below.

I must also say, I've not added any extra fans, just setup the ones that came with the CPU cooler, and also connected the fans that came with the chassis.
I've only disabled the CPU fan option in the bios, as I am using liquid cooling.

here are the readings:
Sensor Properties
Sensor Type Nuvoton NCT6776F (ISA 290h)
GPU Sensor Type Diode (ATI-Diode)

1. Are these readings normal? I hear people telling me that the CPU tempreature never exceeds 30 degrees when using Water cooling for the CPU?
2. If this is not normal, Is there any other way to lower the tempreatures?

Any advice concerning these questions would be appreciated.

First time setting up such a pc.

regards,

1) Max temp for your chip is around 75°C
2) Idle temps (what you have above) are a bit useless. Put your machine under heavy load (using Prime95 or whatever) and report those temps
3) I like having 3 points :p

So basically, dont worry about the temps. Those presealed units will not get you anywhere close to a true water cooling setup. They generally give temps closer to that of top end air coolers

1) What if its 31 degrees in your PC room?
2) You can't overclock that chip so don't bother with any aftermarket coolers. Stock will work just fine and your CPU will live forever.
3) if you do have higher than average temps then its probably the seating of your cooler thats an issue.

As archer says run prime 95 or intel burn test and post those temps.

Hi,

Thanks guys for the replies, So I guess the tempreatures would be fine. Well, I just was wondering whether it should be fine on idle. I was going to do the testing, but I thought to first check with you guys if on idle it seems fine Before testing.
Will test and report accordingly.

I overclocked my I7 2600k 3.4Ghz to 4.5Ghz and i am using the Cooler Master V6 and on idle i get 25-30Celsius, with intel burn test and Prime i get 40-50Celsius, not bad for Air cooling i would say.

Sunday when it was like 35 Celsius in Cape Town my CPU was ideling on 30 :)

Seriously though, listing temps without the ambient temp of the room your PC is in is useless.

Seems like my Asus software that came with my motherboard was smoking weed afterall, tested with Realtemp and the diffrence was like with 5 - 10 Celsius more than what the Asus software gives me.

Really? When everyone says you are wrong, you usually are. THat is why everyone was telling you that it is impossible for a heat sink to cool down a cpu to below the ambient temp. It can only try get it as close to the ambient temp as possible.
