Hi guys. I have a 3x9 Wendy house, wooden frame with Nutec walls, insulated. x3 windows

Every summer however, it gets uncomfortably hot in here. I was wondering if anyone has idea's to cool it down?

Would a air cooler work (Those devices that cost between 1.5-3k) or would I need expensive air conditioning?

I have bad luck when I buy or get advice from anyone in my area trying to sell me things so I'm hoping to find better advice here. I'm a clueless individual :)

Insulation and then aircon.

Water coolers IMO dont really work. Portable AC’s also very noisy.....only real option is AC

Sisalation. Line the walls and roof. It made my wendy shack liveable in summer.
Sisalation 405 1250 x 162.5 Residential (40m/Roll) 1MMRI00003AA

Coolers do work, if you're in a dry environment. It doesn't do much in already humid area

Agree with you, had one in Namibia but it couldn’t keep up with the actual heat. It was also way off the power of an AC

I just recently installed insulation and ceiling which works. If the walls are in the sun those should have the same.
insulation.JPGMine is the 50mm which I doubled and Rhino Board

Next step is to go overboard and paint the roof with reflective white paint but it's a 4 step process
Clean
Under coat
Top coat x2

Well if you sit in your brick house in a room facing north it will also be hot in the summer.
Depends what you doing in it. Do you live in it and spend an hour or two in the day there, just get a big noisy fan. If you working in it the whole day, get an aircon

I've been living in a 3x9 Wendy for over 12 years, similar setup and honestly all that really works in the end is a proper aircon. Without the aircon it reached over 42° to the point where smoke was coming out of my router lol.

In my area they said I should simply put another wendyhouse roof on top of my existing wendyhouse roof.

I did once wonder if I put my wendy house under another roof for shade if that would help but that might come with it's own issues too.

I've had certain plastics completely melt at some point and fake leather completely falling apart so far!
I fortunately live near the sea and my PC's have not melted yet.

Aircon may be the only way to go. Thanks for all the replies everyone! Might try to paint the roof first but it looks like I probably should save for aircon. Doing different insulation in the roof or walls is going to be a huge pain at this point.

Sadly the force doesn't help keep it cool

Yeah mine has a similar roof. You're really gonna need an aircon. I originally tried a portable one but it wasn't that great so standard aircon is preferred.

There are a bunch of things that cause the issue. Two unit AC will help, but if badly designed and insulated you just Wasting money. (Eskom gonna kill you).

Portable Aircon will be a waste of money. Noisy and need to find a way to get rid of hot air.

Interested to know what you mean by "insulation" and what was used for "insulation".

Mineral Rock Wool insulation is the best. Need to have proper thickness. Those thin sheets of insulation is almost useless depending on the environment.
Want at least a 30mm air gap between wool and roof underlay.

Avoid think pink. Avoid sisalation. Unless you combine it for something else. You will still be baking.

IsoBoard 80mm is good. Combine with Allu bubble or similar and you have a winner.

Same for walls.

To many windows can also allow for too much sun. Start by adding awnings over the windows outside as it seems like you get too much sun from that.

West facing wall, don't want too many windows, it will bake. Get them shaded ASAP.

North and East is good for Windows. Some shade is good.

East will get morning sun. Keep this in mind if you don't have shade it can bake in morning.

South not too many windows because of heat loss if you in colder climate.

Add curtians in front of the windows.

Too many openings in such a small space can be less efficient as well.
