Baby steps first, ie solar powered geysers added on to existing geysers has proven to be cheap, compared to an individual paying for coal powered electricity, don't know about China and usa, but been to India a year ago,been to a few cities never really saw an energy saving light. Research in the future will eventually find green power stations, If even half the populations of these counties do their bit, it will make a significant dip.

Here I thought the world was on the brink of a major catastrophe. Like I said there is no "green" solution to the biggest producers of carbon emissions.

To answer his original question, however, China has refused to do anything before the USA commits, so we have a catch 22 situation, particularly if Alan's GOP gets into power and puts us back to the 19th Century as far as "green" issues go.

All these delegates could have used video conferencing instead of flying/driving to Durban. They could all have sit in their office and no need to drive anywhere.

I was busy watching the SABC 3 coverage of COP now and these people are doing a lot more damage to the environment than not.

They have 1000s of delegates flying to Durban from all over. How many of them will be renting cars to drive to the conference on a daily basis. This whole thing is a sham.

Only reason our government supports this is so they can have an excuse that people believe when they complain about the lack of food because our farmers are leaving the country in bucket loads.

I mean come on, the TV add speaks volumes when they say "Food get more expensive and scarce due to global warming" every 5 minutes.
