Copper services being terminated from Feb,2026

I have to put it here,there doesn't seem to be a place for this discussion..I noticed in small print on my Telkom Account balance statement:"Copper services to end from 1 Feb 2026"....does anyone else no about this....and will it be done using a phased approach or what?
 
They've been converting clients services for the last 2 years to LTE voice services or fibre services. I suspect that end Feb all copper systems will be turned off.

I honestly don't know who still has a copper landline. Surprised you still do. Everything is fibre now.

Who still has copper lines/service and who would even maintain and supply those lines in 2026??!
It’s not just the line to a home, it needs to run back all the way to local exchange wherever that is.
 
Feels more like formalising what’s already happened than something new.
