You most certainly CAN.
Connect a capture card (something like this : http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_usblive2.html ) to the RCA out on the PVR. Connect the rest to the pc / notebook and record away. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
Just take note that you're not going to be able to record in HD due to the limitations of the cable, but the quality is surprisingly good. Sound also only comes in stereo -obviously.
I have no clue why people are always saying, "No you can't." I do it ALL the time.
Because the question is very specifically "Can you COPY..."... not can you re-record..
Of course you can re-record the stuff on the PVR if you have a capture card... but then why not just record it with the capture card in the first place.
Not at all. Would you call recording a DSTV show on VCR "Copying"? Using RCA means losing significant quality.Ummm...."re-record" sounds an awful lot like "copy" to me.
I think the main thing is getting the contect off of MC onto your pc. Let's ask Johan what he thinks....
*And the fact that it's on a PVR and not just a decoder is also a pretty clear indication that it MIGHT just be recorded content![]()
Agree. Only problem is the time it takes... no "high speed dubbing"!You most certainly CAN.
