I used to live in JHB, where I would regularly use the services of a particular business. I have since moved and they do not operate in my new location. I took a significant pay cut during the past year and half have been looking for sources of extra income.
Thought it might be worth a try providing the same service I used to receive in JHB, in my new location. I started with a few acquaintances and would like to try taking the next step, i.e. actively seeking new clients through marketing, making it available on the app store & website.
I have 'copied' (read completely recreated from scratch by myself) the company's app and relevant API based on my functional requirements.
In my opinion, none of the software I recreated is proprietary as, from a functionality standpoint, it's a basic booking service.
Are there any legal and/or other implications in doing this? Or can I go ahead without worry?
