copying from a web page

Just wondered,
When I copy text or image from a web page to say word, it takes a while. [It is not instant] Why is this. does the copy part comes again from the web page / site.

maybe, but you see the text in front of you that you copy. that is why I wonder.

The text is coming from your browser (thin client principle). The browser reads the HTML code and displays it as text with formatting.

Word does that. It doesn't take the data from the clipboard & instead insists on downloading the website itself (again).

Nothing you can do about it.
