Hi There

I just want to know what the default temp should be? Mine is sometimes sitting at 75 degrees. Is it normal?

Bit high depending what you do at the time. Should be around 45-55 Currently mine is below 40 with standard cooloing. Either your cooling is failing or you are running a cpu intensive application like a game or the heatpaste between the CPU surface and the Fan heatsink is gone bad.

75 is a bit high, mine averages around 36 to 40 degrees

what are you using measure your temps?

is it in bios or some windows program?

download core temp to get an exact windows reading, if its in the bios your reading it from you have severe problems

There's no fans in the case except for the one on the processor?

75 is very high if your PC is idling... Idle should be anything from 32 to 50, depending on your system cooling.

I think you should get some!
That temp is far to high..
IIRC according to intel specs, at the least, you must have a 92mm fan at the back, a 80mm vent above the cpu (with the air duct) and also an air vent above the PCI-E and PCI slots...

so yeah, get some case fans

in the mean time, take the side panel off, should help quite a bit

I've added a fan with an air duct. It's idling at 47 now. Much better!

47 could be better but it isn't too bad. Many 6600's idle at 50'C even with after market coolers, but in any case you should re-apply the thermal place and re seat the cooler
