Just wondering if is as easy to plug this new quad processor into my current core 2 Duo motherboard...

Saw a R3,135 price for an Intel® Tray Core2™Quad Q6600 Processor - 2.40GHz Dual Core, Socket 775, 8MB, 1066MHz FSB, 65nm, 64-Bit

just remember that a tray CPU (as opposed to box) does not have a cooler included.

Get you own one, I recommend:
Zalman CNPS7500-Cu Led : copper FHS + 110mm blue-led Fan + Fan mate2 : 1150/2300rpm , double ball bearing , noise 17/32db - for Amd 754/939/940/AM2 , all Intel cpu
Should only cost about R350, but unlike some of the more exotic coolers like the 9500 and 9700, it cools the motherboard chipsets as well.

Also, we do need to know which motherboard you have before we can say yay or nay.

so much details... would just be looking for a cooler couldn't care less on this chain of specs, or should i:confused:
