I am wanting to upgrade from my P4.
Do i buy a middle of the range Core2 Duo (3Ghz,3MB,1066Mhz FSB,45nm,x64).(http://www.comx.co.za/BX80571E7500-...-Core-Information-Price-Buy-Cheap-p-24298.php)

or do i buy a Core2 Quad(2.4Ghz,4MB1066Mhz FSB,45nm,x64).(http://www.comx.co.za/computer-store-specifications.php?products=21762)

They are both about the same price, give or take R150.

I dont play games but i use photoshop to edit photos while using I-tunes in the background and watch movies now and again.

Can anybody give some suggestions:confused:

Both will be a huge upgrade but photoshop/multitasking = quad.

I had the same query 8 months ... I was advised quad. I went quad. I'd advise quad
