Corned beef

Why is corned beef so cheap? I am talking about 'raw' corned beef, looks like a steak. I saw it at Woolworths for R49.99 per kilo, and bought it. I made it in the slowcooker with spices and carrots and potatoes and it's damn good!

Traditionally they use brisket which is a tough, but less expensive, cut.
