Corrupt Micro SD card - 4GB SDHC

I've got a 6110 Navigator that came shipped with a 512MB card. Never had any problems, apart for the space, so yesterday bought a Transcend 4GB SDHC (class 6) card.

Put it in, formatted it... no problem.... added content, installed apps, etc and all fine. Switched off phone and switched back on.... tells me memory card is corrupt. While the phone is on, when I remove the card and put it back in, everything works fine.

But when I switch off the phone and on again, same problem.

According to the specs, the phone can handle up to 8GB cards.

Its only when apps are installed that it has this problem. If I just take some pics, or copy some music on the card, then its fine?

Any help... please?

Did you format the card after you placed it in the phone ? I buy SanDisk 8GB ones from Hong Kong and never had a problem before. But I do always format them after I put them in the phone for the first time.

Hi, I tried that as well. Format the card on the phone, and then do an install and same problem. Whats quite odd is that if I just copy stuff on the card, then no problem, but if I install something, even after uninstalling (i.e. only leaving the copied images, etc on the card) I get this problem.

Could it possible be that its a class 6? Or maybe that its a Transcend

The cards I use is anything from class 2 to class 6 and I have never had this problem.

Perhaps get one from hong kong and see if that solves it. The total cost is about R235 these days if you buy it from a good source like FlashMan852 (http://stores.ebay.com/flashman852).

Sometimes I get stuff I buy from him after only 5 days...

Paid R135 for my 4GB.... and collected it the same day... thanks, but don't want to spend another couple of hundred to possible have the same problem.

Do you have the latest firmware? I updated to 4.something (4.022 I think) a while ago... but this should improve compatibility

I am using a N82 and it does have the latest firmware.
I think in your case the card is dodgy. Does the same thing happen when you use it on a PC with a card reader ?

No, the pc reads it fine. Its only when switching off the phone and back on. It may be a phone / card incompatibility. 6110 uses Symbian S60 3rd ed. Not sure about N82

The N82 also uses S60 3rd. If you want me to get you a 8gb Sandisk (with full size SD adaptor) then let me know.

Can you guys tell me what Integal cards are like, I checked their website and they seem good enough and want to buy their Ultima Pro 8Gb SDHC ?
