I cannot view webistes from my desktop compters in my home but my laptop can with ease. I called telkom and they tell me that my TCP/IP is corrupt and I need to get hold of Microsoft.

Is this possible and can I fix it myself?
Anybody ever have the same problem?

HELP PLEASE

i use anti virus (norton). actually both computers had norton installed and then this problem happened. Does that mean something?

Some sneaky browser hijackers and adware crap insert themselves into the Windows TCP/IP stack to spy on your TCP/IP traffic and can cause major problems if they are not removed in the proper way.

Try this fixer program below.

lol telkom told u, ur tcp/ip is corrupt ROFL..

Ok, heres the issue, you are more than likely infected on the machine with some trojan/virus that chances your hostfile to point to your local pc, timing out and showing a blank page.

Do couple of virus scans, but in all honesty, we had one of these issues where no virus scanner picked it up, one trojan scanner did and removed it but yet the issue remained. Did a clean install and patched it offline.

You really do require some additional protection these days besides an anti-virus program.

I would suggest d/l and installing the free Microsoft Anti-Spyware from http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/default.mspx

Also I stopped using Internet Explorer as it is too much of a security risk in favour of another browser like Opera or FireFox.

Clipse, do u mean i must format my pc and install everything again? Norton did not find anything at all. Can i fix it without an entire system re-install?

going to try it now, i am currently capped so it will take sometime to download.

I have been using strong DC++ and i am sure i got it from there. My fault should have been protected before getting into bed with diffrent PCs

Do you have a local email address then I can send it to you ???.

thanks for the software but it could not find anything to remove, so no luck there.

Open a windows shell and type in ipconfig /all on your notebook and then on your home PC respectively and copy and paste the output here.

it is exactly the same on the laptop except for the ip

Which wireless router are you using ???.
Are you using a dialup client on the PC or using the router to connect to the ISP ???

Why is your DNS servers setting pointing to your router ???.
Your ISP should have given you the two IP's in the 196 range which you should use.
