What problems are you having? You can buy an Opel Opcom diagnostic tool for R699 from Autotools.co.za which can scan for faults on all systems, show live data, reset service interval, and more advanced stuff like program keys.

You willing to drive to JNB?

Assuming that parts replaced was just guesswork not based on anything concrete I would say forget about the ECU for now and go back to basics, buy a diagnostic tool, they are affordable and easy to use.

Get the fault codes and take it from there, in my little experience it is never the ECU, but everyone who fancies themselves as a mechanic blames the poor thing when they have run out ideas.

I sincerely hope your'e right and I think you are! Problem has something to do with standing in intense rain outside twice recently. Can't get it under cover at present. Decided that an old dog actually can learn new tricks.
Someone suggested the Opel Opcom diagnostic tool for R699. Learn to use it and have it for next time! Bakkie 18 years old.
Have a son in N.Z. Very good with this type of thing but does Volvo and Landy. He's gonna walk over to the Opel guys tomorrow and pick their brains. He mentioned something about using a paper clip??
Thanks

I replaced the coil pack and the sensors that they say can cause problems as a preventative measure since I don't know the history of the vehicle. Car is 16 years old.

I had a Corsa C as well and the one day it did not want to start, the dash was also doing crazy things. After a bit of googling I unplugged the computer box and left it for about 10 minutes, plugged it back in and it started. Seems unplugging the computer box resets the system.

My Corsa B is 15 years and still works like a charm, contrary to the bad reputation I have found these motors to be very trouble free, in all the years I have owned the car the coil has been the weakest link.

I am afraid to ask you to test the coil because of the associated risk of electrical shock, but you have to find a way to test the coil, be systematic about the troubleshooting and don't be all over the place.

You hsve identified that there is no spark, it's highly unlikely that the computer box can be the cuprit, stay on the problem and don't move until you get the missing spark.

It's either the wiring to the coil is faulty, the coil itself is faulty(i know you said you replaced it), the HT leads or the spark plugs. Stay on that, get assistance if you will to prove the issue.

Don't forget to check the fuses.

I have a new coil pack in. I tested by pulling lead to the plug in the motor, inserting a new plug in the lead and touching the lifting bracket with the plug threads. Also used screw driver in same way but but only briefly cause it was mentioned that thew coil could be damaged. No spark. Checked the fuses in the no 1 fuse box.
The problem arising after the rain points to a correlation, or it is a coincedence. I know Murphy!
The one screw of BCM cover was stripped, so I assume it was opened in the past.
My Volvo / Landy tech son in N.Z. says that the tightly packed string of wires going into the BCM box might also draw in moisture into the BCM space by capillary action . I did not see anything upon opening up but moisture might be hiding in the crevices where the fuses and stuff goes in. Waiting for a lift to go get canned air. Sold my slightly used compressor recently. Ffffoink!
Will give the coil pack some extra attention however.
And so we learn!!
Aag ja!

Was on the point of ordering the Opel Opcom diagnostic tool when we found out that it will not work with windows 10 which I have, only Win xp.

1976? that year I was still single and I really had fun with the opposite ....!
That was my best year for bird hunting! How did you know!!
Should have saved my energy and become a motormac.
By 1976 JFK was with this life no more for about 13 years!
Google kid! Google!

I am not a fan of scanners that requires a PC, here's mine, I find it very hassle free, not top end stuff but it does what it's supposed to do. Maybe ask the shop you were buying from for something that works on Opel?

So does disconnecting the battery.
