Clutch pedal, or cable, or what? And does the Corsa even have a cable - I thought they were all hydraulic?

What's actually happening?

sorry, it was the clutch pedal. made an error with the title.

Soulds like a Lite ? Does the price include labour? Remember the gearbox and engine is together so the labour will be a lot.

The pedal broke not the gearbox, either way the gearbox can be removed without the engine but it's easy to remove the engine so might as well do it all together, that said you only need to work inside the car to replace the clutch pedal.

If you are in Pretoria give Opel A.S.A.P a call (yellow pages), it's a Opel Scrapyard, they'll be able to help you for a more reasonable price, in terms of parts, not labour.

Corsa B is cable operated, replace the clutch Cable also, it's around R300 for a new one and about a 5minute job to replace both the cable and pedal. I only have it in printed format and I'm not typing it up, it's self explanatory and easy anyway.

Corsa C is hydraulic, it's a mission to replace, the procedure from the Haynes manual:

Hayness Manual Corsa C said:
Removal
1 Remove the lower facia panel from the
driver's footwell, then remove the air duct.
2 On right-hand drive models, remove the
steering column as described in Chapter 10.
On left-hand drive models, it is not necessary
to remove the column, however, the electric
power steering wiring must be disconnected
from it.
3 Where fitted (according to model), remove
the EGR clutch switch from the pedal bracket,
and unclip the wiring harness bracket.
4 Disconnect the return spring from the
clutch pedal, then remove the clip securing
the pedal to the master cylinder piston rod.
Vauxhall technicians use a special tool to do
this, however, the clip may be released using
screwdrivers. Note: Do not remove the ball
head clip at the master cylinder end.
5 Remove the windscreen wiper motor from
the bulkhead as described in Chapter 12.
6 In the engine compartment, unscrew the
pedal support strut bolt from the bulkhead
(behind the wiring harness), then unscrew the
nuts in the driver's footwell and remove the
support strut.
7 Unscrew the two self-locking nuts securing
the clutch master cylinder to the bulkhead.
Discard the nuts and-obtain new ones.
8 Unscrew the three remaining self-locking
nuts, and withdraw the clutch pedal and
bracket from inside the vehicle (see
illustration). Discard the nuts and obtain new
ones. To ~revent anv damage, make sure that
all wiring is moved tb one side.
9 Check the pedal and bracket for excessive
wear and damage. It is not possible to renew the
pedal pivot bushes separately, so if they are
worn, the complete assembly must be renewed.

Refitting
10 Manoeuvre the pedal and bracket
assembly into positron, making sure that the
surrounding wring IS not trapped. Screw on
the new retaining nuts, including the master
cyllnder ones, and tighten to the spec~fied
torque. The pedal bracket nuts should be
tightened before the master cylinder nuts.
1 l Refit the pedal support strut and tighten
the boltsinuts.
12 Refit the windscreen wiper motor with
reference to Chapter 12.
13 Reconnect the clutch pedal to the master
cylinder piston rod, making sure that an
audible 'click' is heard as the clip engages.
14 Reconnect the clutch return spring.
15 Where applicable, refit the EGR clutch
switch and clip the wlrlng harness in place.
16 On right-hand drive models, refit the
steering column with reference to Chapter 10
On left-hand drive models, reconnect the
electric power steering wiring.
17 Refit the alr duct and lower facia panel to
the driver's footwell.

Btw. Corsa B is the Corsa Lite shape, and on the Opel website you can get a look of how the Corsa C looks, because the NEW Corsa Utility is a Corsa C.
