The connector snapped just on the Y joint, it's the piece that connects to the fuel filter that broke, someone probably used force at some point because they couldn't figure out the connector.

Does anyone knows how connecting fuel lines to those connectors works? Suppose I get the Y connector thingy how would I go about connecting it to the hoses? They look like the hoses were heat shrunk to the connectors.

The connector broke to close to V joint so I can't use an extension hose.

Any ideas?

Tricky one.
Can you get a new "Y" piece? Then boiling water will soften the nylon but you will have to be careful not to kink it.

If not.
The fuel filter will accept a rubber hose with a clamp so perhaps a steel "T" piece (gas fittings should be the same size) and short rubber sections over the carefully cut ends with the plastic still inside, to give you something to clamp against?

They are heat fit. Don't try a lighter.

Keeping the line in hot boiling water for a while will work. I'm sure if you google GM plastic fuel line you should get a few videos.

Thanks gents, will give it a good assessment soon and see what's the best way forward, sure I can come up with a good solution.

If I remember correctly you can drop most of the line with a few screws making it easier to work with.

Very difficult to give advice without seeing the connectors on the filter, the fuel hose and Y-connector personally.
It's exactly as it is in the picture, the orange mark is where it's broken.

This stuff will most likely solve your problem - don't just stick the bits together, also build a 'sleeve' around the join to seal it properly and provide strength.

Edit: Now with link....

havent seen that name i years .i used it so seal my return pipe on my gunite pool probably 20 years ago .its still good .

Yeah, the idea is to get it sorted properly ultimately but it needs to be mobile in the meanwhile, not necessarily for driving but because it needs to be moved around in the yard, even if I need to take it somewhere to get it fixed it needs to be able to be driven there.

So whatever comes first, if I get the correct part right away no problem, if not a temporary solution is needed. I will try Goldwagen and see what they say.

its a common failure point the biggest hassle is clipping it off the fuel tank without dropping it all the way .a pair of old short braai tongs with the loops cut off ground to size and bent in may release the clips on the tank otherwise...

why is there a Y. My opel just have the strait . struggle the other day to remove it.
My Corsa B hatch is also straight to the filter, this one looks like it is going to the pipe that catches the over spill from the filler.

Hi there. Read your post about the connector that broke. I have a similar problem on my corsa and wanted to know if you'd found this connector. I'm having a battle at the moment. Searched all over the internet but most of the guys that stock these kind of connectors are overseas. I'd be interested to hear if you could find it.
Thanks

Just take some two component epoxy like J-B Weld or our own developed well-known Vasvat.
I used it to fix a leak on my Jetta plastic fuel tank. Put some glue on the leak and then one or two layers of glass fibre in between layers of glue.

I sold it more than 15 years later with the same tank still not leaking.
