So I am on Do3. Beginning of this year it offered a clear advantage over its competitors. But I am starting to think that this advantage is deteriorating. and quickly.
the advantage TIA has is as a result of the fact of the pool of data which means that your stated account maybe as much as double (or more dependant on their internal situation). plus they throw in 10x your stated account as local.
this is all sweet if the news server works. because then you are guaranteed to fully exploit what they make available to you. but in the last two months i have not been able to connect to the news server for stretches of time. even if i get local from about the 15th.
so it seems to me that this local carrot is no longer really any sort of carrot as its reliability is not guaranteed. So I thought of looking at alternatives for similar cost.
So I thought to myself, if I am to move away from Do3 then I need at least 5GB international. 5.5GB is what I would actually be looking at given what SAIX normally gives me. Now my criteria if I were to leave SAIX is to go to semi-shaped. But this makes local all the more important in that I now have to ensure that I use the local component I buy.
So I have decided on this combo as an initial start.
or given that it seems using 30GB of local under SAIX is difficult,
The 2nd option appeals to me I have to say.
The reference (Do3)
