Anyone lately did the exercise of connecting a second decoder to their existing one? Would like to know the cost involved.
I still have a twin lnb and I believe I need a smart lnb. Any suggestion are welcome.

You will need a smart lnb, when I bought mine it was 500bucks.. you will need a second cable from the lnb to the second decoder and the heartbeat cable between the decoders but, I believe that the heartbeat cable is only needed for longer distances but I stand corrected..

So your cost should be:
Second decoder
Coax cable at ~7rand a meter depending where you buy
Smart lnb
Your time for running the coax cables
Extraview monthly cost

Thanks for the info. I will get a few quotes and be on the lookout for dodgy installers.
Basically I need the smart lnb and about 20m of coax cable. The rest I have. Saying that I'll have to check if my dish is 80cm.

Strictly speaking you shouldn't need an installer.. I have successfully changed a lnb myself without an installer.. before removing the existing one, I marked the position of the existing lnb in relation to the clamp using the degree indicators on the lnb.. popped in the new lnb and lined upped the degree indicators to my markings and was all good, had perfect single..

What is a high band dish? Is it the normal 80cm sized dish? Apparently it has something to do with streaming to the dish...?
